When we come to walk-in consultation it is more horrific even though if your condition is a little severe. One needs to walk-in and wait at the waiting room for 2 hours to see a nurse because there is no guarantee that consultation with GAP is possible or that day. Now, why people would use this service when they have better service which is online appointment booking service is in place?
Though Gap’s current online service sounds efficient but in reality it’s actually not that efficient due to several factors such as restricted registration service for online access, absence patient priority procedure, no direct interaction of doctors with the system, lack of proper advertisement and complexity of different vendor dependent Information System (IS) components use. Rosen stated that an improper appointment system is the root problem for attain dissatisfaction over GAP. This paper emphasizes on finding the proper solution for above mentioned factors and development of testable system which can efficiently handle the lacking of current system. 1. Research Aim The main purpose of this project is to build an efficient mobile application for GAP appointment service which will not only allow the general public to book/ amend appointment, request repeat prescription and register themselves to the system but also allow the doctor to view the booked appointment and patient’s problem details and finally providing administrative options so that administrator can easily update doctor’s availability, restrict number of appointments to be allowed and process patient requests while on the go. In one line the project aim would be “development of an android based smart phone which will bring all three key stakeholders(doctors, patient and support staff) in one platform to interact with and continuing a fast GAP services which is a must need in UK under current circumstances”. 1. Research Scope Having an investigation on existing system & interviewing staffs at local GAP centre this project sets certain scopes, such as:- Possibility Of using deferent cosmologies and tools. Learn and understand the IT tools and suppliers used by NASH to provide one stop service to local communities. Learning, understanding, utilizing different modern & up-to-date technologies which are currently used in market to build mobile application. Experiencing the advantages offered by preferred technologies of this project. Understanding & assessing how these technologies acts together & become highly useful when they are combined to finish certain task. Asses the problems of existing systems & find out the best proven solution for issues on those.
